Heritage Hills estate home staging adds value to this two-bedroom condo with the addition of a dedicated home office.
Last month we featured advice for staging an estate. Here is a before-and-after image from another Heritage Hills estate we recently staged. In just 30 days, there is an accepted offer. (Click here to view all the before-and-after images from this project.)
Before Home Staging
This space is being underutilized as a storage room.
After Home Staging
Now this space has a purpose. No need for home buyers to think about how they might use this small room. Adjustable shelves are configured to create both a desk and book shelves, while the door on the right leads to a generous closet, perfect for maintaining a tidy home office.
This lower level bonus room was being used for storage, but felt like it could be used for more. A confusing space for sure.
Upon my initial viewing of the room I found myself wondering what to do with this area and questioning its intended use. If it’s a storage room, why does it have a closet? It’s near the garage but it’s not big enough for a work room. And even though it’s behind the laundry, it’s not a useful laundry area either. So what is this space and will home buyers be as confused as I am when they see it?
Home stagers don’t want potential buyers to do any deep thinking when they tour a home for sale. Instead we want them to feel and experience the space positively. Therefore, to eliminate any confusion, we decide to assign this room a single purpose.
This is a unique space for a Heritage Hills condo and the configuration of the existing shelves inspires the creation of a dedicated office. Since this two-bedroom unit has stairs, this might be a perfect starter home for a young working couple. A dedicated home office would be a true bonus.
A little thought, some decluttering, a new light fixture, and paint make all the difference in adding value to this home.
