The 1980’s “dusty rose” fireplace surround and hearth tiles need a bit of updating to pass muster with this budget-conscious bachelor.

Glass tiles surround the fireplace. Black granite tiles form the hearth, and crown molding – an upgrade future home buyers will love – hides the cable. How? The cable is run up to the ceiling, then behind the crown, and back down the wall to the TV cabinet on the other side. The cable is no longer a design element but hidden behind the walls, where it belongs.
