After five months on the market, this large vacant Heritage Hills condo is staged to sell.

Home seller Carol purchases this cookie-cutter condo 11 years ago. To make this place her own, she hires an interior designer to add high-quality upgrades including hardwood floors, granite countertops, Carrera marble master bath with walk-in shower, custom doors, custom kitchen, and replacement of the radiant-heat system, to name a few.

She’s happy to make this investment in anticipation of spending her retirement years enjoying the upgrades. But all that changes when the economy goes south soon after.

For seven years she rents out the property after an employment opportunity brings her to another state. Realizing that she would not be returning, she lists the home for sale after the long-term renters leave for something permanent.
