I had a great time this past weekend presenting at Pulte Home’s EZ Move Seminar at The Retreat in Carmel NY. I am thankful for the opportunity to educate sellers about home staging and why it works.
Those attending the event must sell their current home before moving into this active-adult community. With three beautifully decorated model homes, it was easy to make the case for staging. Anyone touring experiences the effect of home staging – firsthand – even if they don’t realize it.
It is home staging that makes them connect emotionally to the house. Home staging that allows them to picture themselves living there. And home staging that invites them to stay.
To make the case, attendees were asked to recall their initial visit. What was their first impression? How long did it take to formulate an opinion? Do they still feel that way today? And finally, will home buyers react as favorably to their home?
So, what was the point of this line of questioning? To prove to attendees that, good or bad, first impressions are lasting impressions. All buyers are looking for a positive buying experience and staging delivers on that feeling.
I closed the session by describing my easy approach to home staging, and before I left, two participants had already scheduled consultations. They are ready to impress their potential buyers with a well staged home.
