Mother’s Day for me has never been just one day in May.
With Mother’s Day at the beginning of May, my mother’s birthday at the end and my grandmother’s birthday having been in the middle, May has always been synonymous with “Mom.” The best moms, of course. (But perhaps I’m just a bit biased. Maybe.)
Whether it was decorating, organizing, baking or anything to do with making a house a home, many of us learned those first lessons from our best teacher’s, our moms.
Vanessa Brunner on Houzz.com recently asked this question:
What Has Mom Taught You About Making a Home?
Whether your mother taught you to cook and clean or how to order takeout and let messes be, we’d like to hear about it.
Her follow-up article What We’ve Learned from Mom about Home includes all of the wonderful feedback from the readers of her first article and was appropriately published this past Mother’s Day.
I encourage you to share your cherished memories – as I did – with other Houzz.com members and readers. It’s fun to recall and write down those special qualities, insights, habits, and lessons our mother’s taught us.
Additionally, I’ve also started to compile other enjoyable reads at my ever expanding Mother Board. Included on this Pinterest board is an article I wrote two years ago saluting my mom for teaching me everything I know about making a house a home.
I hope you enjoy these articles and that they bring back fond memories.
